Two Sydney newly-weds are hoping the old saying, “the worse the wedding, the better the marriage” holds true for them after their special day was hit by a hail storm.

Hail stones the size of tennis balls fell from the sky as bells rang at the summer wedding ceremony in Rouse Hill this afternoon.

Guests’ cars were pelted, with one vehicle’s rear-window completely smashed.

Bride Jenna Debattista told 9NEWS she was determined not to let the “perfect storm” ruin her special day.

“It’s a disaster, but funny. I just feel bad for everyone, “ Ms Debattista said.

It is the second day Sydney and surrounding regions have been battered with severe conditions.
