A US weatherman has won fans across the globe for his hilarious reaction to a technical glitch which saw temperatures of more than 1000C forecast across Arizona.

FOX 10 meteorologist Cory McCloskey somehow managed to keep his cool as the swath of ridiculously high temperatures took control of his weathermap on live TV.

“1270 (687C) in Ahwatukee. Now, I’m not authorised to evacuate Ahwatukee but this temperature seems pretty high,” McCloskey deadpanned.

“Cave Creek, Fountain Hills, they don’t look good either. And frankly Wickenburg is a total loss,” the presenter continued, without cracking a smile or missing a beat.

“Again, I’m not your dad, but I would get out while you still can.”

“I think steel boils at about this temperature,” McCloskey noted, pointing to Cave Creek, which showed the predicted temperature as a startling 2960F (1626C).

“Don’t even bother looting up there, it’s not going to be worth it,” he advised viewers.

Video of the highly-entertaining weather segment has already been viewed more than 26,000 times after it was uploaded to YouTube yesterday.
