Showers and storms to descend on Australia's southeast

A trough in the east will generate showers and storms over southern Queensland, New South Wales, and Victoria.

A cold front and trough is expected to bring showers to southern South Australia, with onshore winds triggering coastal showers for Queensland, NSW & southern Western Australia.

A high is keeping skies mostly clear over most of WA and the Northern Territory.

Marine wind warnings are in place for WA, SA, and Queensland.

NSW

Sydneysiders are in for a morning shower or two, with a low of 11 degrees Celsius and a top of 21.

Victoria

Showers and a possible storm will sweep Melbourne, as temperatures span 9 to 14 degrees Celsius.

Queensland

Partly cloudy skies ahead for Brisbane, with residents enjoying a balmy 24 degrees Celsius after a low of 11.

Western Australia

Sunshine is forecast for Perth, after a chilly 4 degrees Celsius low. The mercury will hit 18 later in the day.

South Australia

People in Adelaide will see showers, a low of 7 degrees Celsius and a high of 13.

Tasmania

Hobart is in for some morning fog, and a high of 12 degrees Celsius, up from an earlier count of 4.

A road weather alert has been issued for those living in areas of the Central Plateau, Midlands, Upper Derwent Valley and South East forecast district, as icy roads create dangerous driving conditions.

Australian Capital Territory

Morning fog is also anticipated for Canberra, in addition to a morning shower or two. Temperatures will bottom out at 2 degrees Celsius, before eventually climbing to 14 degrees.

Northern Territory

Partly cloudy weather is expected for the Top End, with temperatures between 22 degrees Celsius and a steamy 33.
