A trough stretching from WA into the Northern Territory, Queensland and northeast NSW is generating scattered showers and storms, mainly over WA.

A front in the east is also contributing to showers and storms over NSW.

Queensland

Few showers, mild to warm in the southeast. Mostly sunny, very warm in the northeast. Mostly sunny, very warm in the northwest. Sunny, cool-to-mild in the southwest.

Brisbane has a shower clearing, with a low of 18C and a top of 29C.

NSW & THE ACT

Showers/storms northeast. Cloudy, few showers southeast. Mostly sunny, cool-to-mild in the southwest. Sunny, warm in the northwest.

Sydney has a shower clearing, with a low of 15C and a top of 21C.

Canberra will be mostly sunny, with a low of 8C and a top of 20C.

There's a strong wind warning for Byron Coast and Coffs Coast.

Victoria

Few showers over the south in the morning, persisting southeast. Mostly sunny, cool-to-mild across the north.

Melbourne has a shower clearing, with a low of 9C and top of 16C.

Tasmania

Hobart will be cloudy, with a low of 7C and top of 16C.

South Australia

Cool and mostly sunny in the southeast and central apart from morning showers lower southeast. Mostly sunny, mild-to-warm in the west and north.

Northern Territory

Late shower/storm, very warm in the NW Top End. Mostly sunny, very warm in Arnhem. Mostly sunny, warm-to-very warm over the interior and south. Few showers/storms far south.

Darwin has a possible thunderstorm, with temperatures between 25C and 32C.
