Watchdog drops petrol price watch

The consumer watchdog has stopped watching petrol prices.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission says it is no longer able to provide petrol price data.
"At this stage we are unable to determine when this will be resolved and we are considering options for the future," the agency said on its website on Monday.

A spokeswoman told AAP the ACCC's contract with the information supplier had ended on June 30.
"We are looking at how we can provide the most useful information on petrol prices for consumers in the future," she said, declining to comment further.
It is understood the ACCC has sought a meeting with the information supplier, Informed Sources.
