Shane Warne says former AFL star Brendon Fevola is "too f--kin dumb to understand" after the pair clashed on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here.

The pair had a heated exchange of words on last night's episode of the Ten Network reality program as their fellow contestants watched intently.

The argument was sparked by the seemingly trivial matter of who should cook. Fevola suggested it should be someone other than the designated cooks, despite the rules saying only they should use the bush kitchen.

When Warne told the former footballer rules were rules, Fevola fired up.

"Don't f--king tell me to zip it," Fevola said.

"I'm not snapping."

"Mate if you are going to be picky every time someone picks up a fry pan there's going to be issues," Warne said.

The two retired sports stars then separated themselves from each other before sharing their thoughts on the tension with the TV audience.

"I was a bit disappointed with Fev for that," Warne said. ".

"I think he let himself down because he just let himself snap but I think Fev is really missing home today so it was probably something like that set him off."

Fevola said he was just sticking up for himself.

"It was just over rules. I was right and he was wrong," he said.

Warne was less diplomatic later in the episode when he was recorded discussing the clash with fellow contestant Akmal Saleh.

"It is a sign of weakness. He is just too f---ing dumb to understand," Warne said.

Reflecting on the incident later, Saleh said he was surprised the "alpha males" hadn't clashed earlier.

"You are under extreme conditions, you're not eating properly and you are living in each other's pockets. I commend everyone in the camp that no one has been stabbed in the eye with a fork," he said.
