Wait for High Court before election: Day
AAP
Crossbench senator Bob Day "fully expects" the High Court case into the constitutionality of laws changing the way voters elect senators to be decided by next week.
The Family First senator says the court has indicated its aware that May 11 is the last day a double dissolution election can be called and he expects that's the timeframe the court is working towards.
Senator Day told Sky News on Monday it would be unwise for Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull to call the election before the court handed down its decision on the laws which make it difficult for micro-parties and independents to be elected.
