Wage growth data encouraging: Morrison
AAP
Treasurer Scott Morrison is encouraged by last week's wages figures, which he says show growth is heading in the right direction
He conceded the 2.1 per cent annual rise in the wage price index for the December quarter was modest, but average weekly ordinary time earnings increasing by 2.4 per cent was the best result in three years.
"They are encouraging figures but there is more work to be done," Mr Morrison told parliament on Monday.
