Yarloop bushfire review complete

A report on Western Australia's deadly Yarloop bushfire has been completed and the state government promises quick action on its recommendations.

The January blaze killed two people and destroyed 181 properties, including 162 houses and the heritage-listed Yarloop Workshops.

Former head of the Victorian Country Fire Authority, Euan Ferguson, was given powers similar to a royal commission to review the lightning-sparked bushfire.

He handed his report to the public sector commissioner last week.

Emergency Services minister Joe Francis, who requested a quick and thorough report, told reporters on Monday he expected to see the report soon.

"We won't be sitting on it very long," he said.

Mr Francis said because the report would be received after the state budget was handed down this week, not all recommendations would necessarily be implemented this year.

But he said some changes might not cost much or anything at all.
