Perth is expected to mark its warmest June since records began 120 years ago, but winter is finally expected to arrive with possible hail and even snow predicted for the Stirling Ranges, in the state's south on Saturday night.

If Perth reaches its predicted maximum of 20 degrees on Friday, the average maximum for the month will be 21.4 degrees, making it the warmest June since the previous record of 21 degrees in 2015.

Perth has also recorded just four days of rain, which is the lowest number on record.
