WA top cop's son back in court

The son of Western Australia's police commissioner has appeared in court on a string of charges including threats to kill and aggravated indecent assault.

Russell O'Callaghan, the son of Police Commissioner Karl O'Callaghan, appeared in Fremantle Magistrate's Court on Wednesday charged with seven offences.

They include deprivation of liberty, threats to kill, aggravated indecent assault, unlawful assault occasioning bodily harm in circumstances of aggravation, threat with intent to prevent or hinder a person doing an act, and two counts of common assault in circumstances of aggravation.

O'Callaghan, 33, was not required to plead to the charges.

He was remanded in custody until August 22 when the magistrate will decide whether bail with home detention should be granted.
