WA shooting cover-up trial wraps up

The trial of a Perth man who fatally shot his de facto wife then lied to make it look like she took her own life is expected to finish on Friday.

Robert Jeffrey Anderson claims he accidentally killed Phaea Leanne Lightfoot, 51, when he fired a warning shot during an argument about sex at their Wanneroo home on August 29, 2012.

Anderson has admitted he lied to police and the triple zero operator, claiming Ms Lightfoot committed suicide. However, he maintains he never planned the cover-up.

Closing arguments in the WA Supreme Court trial are scheduled to begin on Friday.
