A senior sergeant of the WA Police Force has vowed to vigorously defend a corruption charge.

The charge was laid after product supply arrangements at a police business unit in the Perth metropolitan area changed last year.

Christina Janet Johnston, 42, who was the officer in charge, flagged in Perth Magistrates Court on Friday she would enter a not guilty plea and later told reporters she would vigorously defend the allegation.

Johnston, who has been stood down from duties, is due to face court again on November 22.
