WA police take wage fight to commission

The West Australian Police Union has taken its wage dispute with the state government to the WA Industrial Relations Commission.

Last week, the union swiftly rejected a $1000 a year pay rise offer, which is in line with the McGowan government's four-year public sector wages policy implemented in 2017.

The union argues the offer represents a cut in real wages once inflation is taken into account and has filed for conciliation in a bid to advance negotiations.
