WA Parliament finished until election

The Western Australian Parliament has finished all business until after the March election after it was prorogued by WA Governor Kerry Sanderson.

That means bills not passed by either House must be reintroduced in the next session.

It is the first formality in the constitutional and parliamentary process leading to the 40th general state election on March 11, 2017.

In a statement, Premier Colin Barnett acknowledged retiring government MPs Kim Hames, John Castrilli, Terry Waldron and Wendy Duncan.
