WA Nationals withdraw support for Joyce

Barnaby Joyce has lost the support of the Nationals' West Australian branch and should consider his position, the party's state leader Mia Davies says.

Ms Davies says the National Party of WA believes Mr Joyce's ongoing scandal over his affair with a staffer is damaging the organisation.

She says Mr Joyce's position as federal leader is no longer tenable and she urged on behalf of her colleagues that he consider his position as leader "in the best interests of the federal party and state branches."
