WA man's leg amputated after home shooting

A 31-year-old Perth man has had his lower leg amputated after being shot during an early morning home invasion.

Six male hoodie-wearing attackers broke into his Cooloongup home just before 2am on April 8 and fired a gun close to the victim's three children, aged between six and 10.

They then shot the man and demanded property from him, but left empty-handed.

Police have asked the public for any information about the attackers, who used a four-wheel drive during the incident that had earlier been reported stolen from Esperance.
