WA man charged over alleged home invasion

A 37-year-old Perth man has been charged over an alleged home invasion in which a grandmother and two children were threatened before he ordered a seven-year-old girl to go with him.

Detectives say the incident occurred in Forrestfield about 10.15am on December 19, when a man pretending to deliver a letter knocked on the door and forced his way inside.

Police said he threatened a 67-year-old woman and two children, aged seven and eight, with a toy handgun.

He left when the seven-year-old refused to leave with him.

He was arrested on Christmas Day and is due to face Perth Magistrates Court on Wednesday charged with aggravated burglary, aggravated assault and going armed to cause fear.
