WA Libs to move public servants to 'burbs

More public servants will be moved out of the Perth CBD to hot-desking centres at new government buildings under construction in Joondalup and planned for Fremantle, under a Liberal party pledge.

Deputy Premier Liza Harvey said 50 hot-desks - or communal, bookable workstations - would initially be set up at Joondalup and another 50 in Fremantle, while other hot-desking centres would be considered at Osborne Park, Cannington and Midland.

"These arrangements will make life easier for working mums and dads, giving them more time to spend with their family and greater flexibility to take children to school or day care," Ms Harvey said on Tuesday.

In their current and second term, the Liberals have decentralised some government offices including moving the Department of Parks and Wildlife headquarters to Bunbury in the South West region.
