WA government blamed for increased crime
AAP
A new West Australian Police model is responsible for an unprecedented rise in crime rates, the state opposition says.
Labor's police spokeswoman Michelle Roberts said certain crime rates had increased by up to 30 per cent on last year, with police response times far slower than before the new model was introduced.
"They've tried a new policing model, they're saying the model is working," she told reporters.

"I'll tell you what the model has delivered over the last six or seven months - much longer response times, much higher crime rates.
"What we've got is an issue specific to Western Australia."
