WA frying pan murder suspect to face trial

A Perth man accused of bludgeoning his mother to death with a frying pan while she made dinner in her Mosman Park home will face trial in November.

Samuel Ashby appeared in the Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court via video-link from Casuarina Prison on Thursday.

The court heard Ashby's sanity at the time of the alleged murder would be the only issue of the trial.
