WA flights to Melbourne for AFL final soar

Flights from Perth to Melbourne in the days leading up to the AFL grand final will cost fans hundreds of dollars more than ususal.

As the odds of a western derby showdown continue to shorten, airlines have increased their prices for a direct one-way flight across the Nullarbor by up to 370 per cent.

The grand final is on October 3 and the cheapest flights available for October 2 range from $600 to $1000, but as tickets sell out those prices could climb even higher.
