A volunteer firefighter will appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on Friday charged with starting fires.

Jayden Parker, 18, was arrested in December for lighting two fires on Canning Dam Road in Bedfordale in Perth's southeast, then helping to put them out.

He is also charged with making seven false triple-zero calls about fires in the Bedfordale area.

Parker was the second volunteer from the Bedfordale brigade to be charged with arson last month.

A 20-year-old man also allegedly lit bushfires in the same suburb and made false triple-zero calls.
