WA director guilty of abusing power

A web entrepreneur has been found guilty of breaching his director duties, including withdrawing more than $29,000 from his company's bank account for personal use.

Oliver James Wood stood trial in the West Australian District Court and was convicted of three counts of using his position at SEO Company dishonestly to gain an advantage.

The jury's verdict followed an Australian Securities and Investments Commission investigation that resulted in Wood pleading guilty to four counts of making a false statement in a document lodged with the corporate watchdog.

Wood will face a sentencing hearing on October 15.
