WA cop charged after suspect 'hit by car'
A WA policeman has been charged with dangerous driving after he allegedly used his work car to hit an 18-year-old man earlier this year.
The man suffered minor injuries from the collision in Thornlie on the afternoon of May 6, which was caught on video.
The 55-year-old senior sergeant was stood down from operational duties four days later, pending the outcome of an investigation by the Internal Affairs Unit.
At the time, police said officers had responded to a call about suspicious activity when they spotted the man and a scuffle ensued.
They said the man fled on foot and was arrested nearby after being struck by the police vehicle.
The officer is due to appear in the Armadale Magistrate's Court on November 20.
