WA children's hospital to open October
AAP
Perth's long awaited new children's hospital has been given an opening date - October 24 this year.
The $1.2 billion, 298-bed project has been delayed by more than a year and had various construction problems including subcontractors not being paid, but construction should be completely finished by November 20.
The hospital was a direct benefit of the mining boom driven by iron ore royalties from BHP Billiton and Rio Tinto, said Premier Colin Barnett.
