WA beach reopens after shark attack

The West Australian beach where a teenage boy was bitten by a shark while surfing at the weekend has been reopened.

Cameron Pearman, 13, was bitten by a two-metre shark while surfing at Port Bouvard beach, south of Perth, on Saturday morning.

He suffered only minor injuries when the shark bit his leg and was treated by lifesavers at the beach.

Port Bouvard beach, also known as Pyramids beach, was closed by the local council on Saturday.

But on Sunday, Surf Life Saving WA tweeted that the beach had been reopened because there had been no further sightings of a shark in the area.
