Uber angers WA cabbies

Angry taxi drivers plan to protest outside the West Australian parliament against ride-share company Uber and increasing violence from passengers.

The Transport Workers' Union says hundreds of taxi drivers won't pick up customers from 2pm on Tuesday and will instead travel in a long convoy to parliament.

"Drivers are outraged that the Barnett government has failed to act on Uber despite their agreeing that it is operating in serious breach of WA laws," the union said.
