Two dead in Perth construction accident

Two construction workers have been crushed to death by a concrete panel on a Perth building site .

The accident on Bennett Street, East Perth was reported at 11.30am on Wednesday.

More than an hour later, the men are still trapped under the panel, which is blocking off the street.

WorkSafe WA is investigating.

"Our heartfelt thoughts and condolences go out to their families, loved ones and colleagues," Jaxon Construction said in a statement.

"Site works have been halted until further notice and the site is now in the hands of relevant authorities."
