Trial to make WA development even greener

Australia's first residential development to achieve a six-star green rating could get even greener, with a solar generation and battery storage trial under way.
The $6.7 million trial is at Alkimos Beach, a master-planned coastal community 40km north of Perth that was lauded by the Green Building Council of Australia in 2015.
"Energy storage is the next logical step in new technology and consumers are demanding solutions from the energy providers which package solar and storage," West Australian energy minister Mike Nahan said.
