Teen driver charged over WA crash

A 15-year-old girl allegedly affected by drugs and driving without a licence has been charged over a crash that seriously injured one of her passengers in Western Australia's north.

Police say the girl was driving on Hamilton Road in South Hedland about 4am on April 7 when she crashed into a lamp post near Hedditch Street.

A 24-year-old female passenger suffered serious injuries and was flown to Perth for medical treatment, while the driver and her 26-year-old male passenger received minor injuries.

The girl has been charged with dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, driving without a licence, driving while under the influence of drugs and failing to report an incident.
