Teen charged over sickening alleged assault which left man convulsing on the ground

A 14-year-old has been charged over an alleged assault south of Perth.
He's accused of knocking a 25-year-old man unconscious, leaving him convulsing on the ground.

The confronting vision shows the man laying on the ground after a rock was hurled at his head.
Police allege the boy was the one to throw it.
“Very confronting, it’s quite horrific actually, when you watch the footage and obviously, we can understand why the community is upset about that,” WA Police Acting Senior Sergeant Jamie Raper said.

“We believe there might have been altercation earlier in the restaurant, where the juveniles were potentially harassing the workers, and we believe this male stepped in to protect those workers,” Raper said.
The man was taken to hospital but left the emergency room before he could be seen.
He's now recovering at home, left with multiple fractures in his face and chipped teeth.
At this stage one 14-year-old boy has been arrested and charged.
"Assault occasioning bodily harm at this stage but pending medical reports potentially that might be upgraded," Raper said of the charges.
WA Premier Roger Cook condemned the violent act.
“I haven’t seen the video, but I’ve heard about it and that sounds disgusting and any violence against another member of the community is just unacceptable,” he said.
Police say investigations are continuing and expect more people will be charged.
