A snorkeller has been bitten on the hand by a 1.5 metre bull shark on Western Australia's north-west coast.

Authorities said the woman had minor injuries after being bitten on Saturday morning at Mauds Point near Coral Bay, and issued a shark warning for the area on Monday.

The woman was bitten about 20 metres offshore and was treated at a local nursing station.
