Wild Perth storms pass with little damage

A severe weather warning for Perth has been cancelled as it emerges from its worst storm this winter with limited damage.

Rain and thunderstorms are expected through the rest of Monday and severe conditions may still be experienced southeast of Bremer Bay inland to Narrogin and from Hyden to Esperance, the Bureau of Meterology says.

Rough surf conditions continue along the coast from Geraldton to Albany, causing possible beach erosion.

More than 167 millimetres of rain has fallen in the southern region of Jarrahdale over the past week as the overall rainfall for August reached 115 millimetres, while the metropolitan area received 85 millimetres.

There's been above average rainfall for Perth in July and August but the 88mm that fell in June was only half the 172.9mm average.
