Severe thunderstorm warning for WA

A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for areas in WA including the Central West, Lower West, and the Great Southern and Central Wheat Belt.

These storms could be accompanied by damaging winds, large hail and heavy rain, which could lead to flash flooding.

People who could be affected are within an area bounded by Moora to Wongan Hills to Narrogin to Dwellingup to Moora. It includes those near or between Northam and York.

While not unusual for this time of year, severe weather can cause damage to homes and property, the Department of Fire and Emergency Services says.
