Rethink The Link:

* Urges the government to stop works until an analysis of all alternatives, including the outer harbour, are considered and full public consultation has occurred.

The City of Cockburn:

* It is not a well-planned project and has significant economic, social and environmental effects on local communities, which have not been taken into consideration.

City of Fremantle:

* The plan will have a negative impact on the Beeliar Wetlands and Banksia Woodlands, as well as issues with the sale of Fremantle Port and adding pressure to already failing intersections.

Town of East Fremantle:

* Supports an outer harbour near Kwinana.

Curtin University paper authors Cole Hendrigan and Peter Newman:

* The plan is a "clear subversion of the planning process", which has been bipartisan for years.

* It has been "foisted onto the agenda in a rush to ... secure shovel-ready projects for short-term economic activity by a federal government unaware of the local conditions."

Infrastructure Australia:

* Confident the proposed solution will deliver net economic benefits.

City of Melville:

* The project will serve the traffic and transportation needs of the region.

* Without it, access to Fremantle Port, the future outer harbour, Henderson marine precinct, the Kwinana industrial area, Latitude 32 and the Murdoch Activity Centre will be dysfunctional.
