Second man dies in remote WA

A second man has died when his truck broke down and he walked in extreme heat to find help in remote Western Australia.

The 39-year-old man was travelling to a station near Meekatharra in the state's mid-west on Friday when his truck became bogged.

He left the truck and walked several kilometres in extreme heat to look for help and may have attempted to return to his vehicle, police said.

Police were notified of the man's disappearance when he didn't turn up at the station on time.

He was later found dead by a station staff member.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.

Two weeks ago a 60-year-old man died after walking 46km to find help when his car broke down in the same region.

Police are urging people who become stranded in remote areas not to panic and stay with their vehicle at all times.
