Detainee escapes while visiting WA temple

A detainee has escaped from immigration detention while visiting a Buddhist temple in Perth.
WA Police are assisting the Department of Immigration and Border protection in the search for the missing detainee in the city's southeast.
While the department said it could not comment on the detainee's individual circumstances, it said they were not an "illegal maritime arrival".

According to media reports, the person escaped from a mini-bus in Kenwick.
