RSPCA investigates WA pet baiting spate

The RSPCA in WA is investigating a spate of pet poisonings this month, with one baiting resulting in the dog having to be put down.

The animal welfare agency says the dog was found bleeding in its backyard after eating poison that was thrown over the garden fence and was rushed to a vet but had to be euthanised.

The baiting attacks this month were in Dianella, Northam, Gosnells, Seville Grove and East Victoria Park.

The RSPCA is urging pet owners to take action to improve their pet's behaviour, such as walking dogs in the morning so they are more relaxed and less likely to bark when alone during the day, in a bid to prevent disputes with neighbours escalating.
