Protests over Heirisson Island eviction

Dozens of indigenous protesters and supporters have staged sit-ins outside the the City of Perth's council offices and Parliament House over their eviction from the Heirisson Island parkland near the CBD.
Mounted police watched on Thursday as protesters chanted and called for more public housing.
The group marched from Council House to Parliament and when ordered to move on began setting up tents.
