Two teenage boys are being questioned by police after a school in Perth's northern suburbs was trashed overnight.

When officers arrived at Currambine Primary School just after 3am, they found a tyre on fire in the sandpit and put it out before inspecting the buildings.

Paint believed to have been stolen from a shed at the school had been thrown around, chair coverings had been slashed and electrical cables to appliances cut, while toilets were filled with classroom items including pictures and taps were left running.
