Police officer run down in Perth

A policeman was lucky to escape serious injury when he was run down and pinned to a gate in Perth.

The officer had attended a house in Gosnells following reports a man was on the roof shortly after 11am on Sunday.

As police walked down the driveway, a 17-year-old man drove a car through the gates in the driveway, briefly pinning the officer to those gates,

The abandoned car was found a short time later in Thornlie and the teen was arrested with the help of the dog squad.

The officer suffered minor leg injuries.
