Drugs, 11kg of high-strength explosives found in car in Perth

Four people have been charged after high-strength explosives and drugs were found in a car in Perth.

A booze bus was cordoned off at Mount Lawley after a car found to be carrying 11.5 kilograms of power gel drove into the area at about 2am on Thursday.

Power gel is a high-strength explosive used in mining.

The 21-year-old driver was arrested.

Her three passengers were later arrested after returning to a second car where police found several bags containing white crystals believed to be methylamphetamine.

Police also searched an Adelaide Terrace hotel where they found more drugs and cash.

The 21-year-old woman from North Perth was charged with drug possession offences.

A 43-year-old Ascot woman, a 27-year-old Henley brook man and a 31-year-old man of no fixed address have been charged with possession and intent to sell methylamphetamine, cocaine and heroin.

The 31-year-old man was also charged with unlawful and unlicensed possession of dangerous goods.

All four were refused bail and will appear in the Perth Magistrate's Court on Friday.
