Motorists get petrol for 14.9 cents per litre after Perth pump mistake

An unmanned petrol stop in Western Australia has signalled a jackpot to opportunistic motorists, after its fuel was incorrectly priced at 14.9 cents per litre.
Dozens of motorists on Armadale Road, in Jandakot, scored the bargain fill-up after the Puma petrol stop’s stated price of $1.419 per litre was incorrectly input into the bowser.
The pumps were shut down in the afternoon after cars queued up to exploit the error, reports ABC News.
The company now faces a potential investigation after selling fuel at less than the reported cost.
FuelWatch coordinator Kyle Huynh said it is unlikely the company could recoup the lost profits.
"It would be unlikely the trader would be able to pursue the consumers for the difference in price," he said.
