Perth man had explosives in home: police

A man has been charged after police allegedly found explosives in his West Perth home.

Police say they found ammonium nitrate inside two containers, a detonator with a fuse, sticks of power gel and a military projectile.

They also seized several cannabis plants and drug paraphernalia.

The man has been charged with three counts of making or possessing explosives in suspicious circumstances, permitting the use of premises for the use of a prohibited drug or plant, and possessing drug paraphernalia.

He will appear before the Perth Magistrates Court on Thursday.
