Perth man bashed unconscious at party brought out of coma

A man has been brought out of a coma two weeks after he was attacked by gatecrashers at his Perth home.

Ryan Ball, 38, was hosting a school ball after-party for the children of friends in Vernon Place, Padbury when he was critically injured while trying to get rid of gatecrashers fighting in the street.

Police allege Mr Ball was punched in the face, causing him to fall and hit his head on the ground.

He remained at Royal Perth Hospital in an induced coma, which doctors brought him out of today.

A Perth teenager has been charged over the alleged attack.

An 18-year-old man from Merriwa has been charged with grievous bodily harm and assault occasioning bodily harm.

It has been alleged the teen also assaulted a 17-year-old boy, breaking his jaw.

He has been refused bail and will appear in the Northbridge Magistrates Court.

Joondalup Detectives are continuing to investigate other assault and stealing incidents in the Padbury area during the time of the party.
