Perth fisherman hauls in 1915 grenade
AAP
This is the explosive device that didn't get away - a fisherman has hauled an unexploded 100-year-old German grenade out of Perth's Swan River.
The man was fishing off the Applecross Jetty at about 2am when he pulled in what appeared to be an unexploded ordnance.
After police cordoned off the area and advised the bomb squad, Australian Defence Force personnel were also called in and determined the item was a 1915 German Wurth grenade that had no fuse.
