Perth fare evader can't dodge $11,600 fine
AAP
The free ride is over for a Perth public transport user who had to pay back $11,600 in unpaid fares.
WA Public Transport Authority spokesman David Hynes said despite Transperth having the lowest rates of fare evasion in the country, more than $120,000 had been paid back since June 2015.
In the same period, close to 800 concession SmartRider cards, Perth's rechargeable transport card, have been confiscated from people not entitled to the discount.
