Dense fog hides oncoming 4WD in Perth head-on crash
A Perth driver's disbelief turned to horror as he watched a car trying to overtake on a foggy highway slam head-on into an oncoming vehicle.
One man was seriously injured in the crash that happened early on Tuesday morning on Nicholson Road in Oakford, Perth Now reports.
The driver's dashcam captured the violent collision, which occurred as he spoke to a friend on the phone.
"Is this guy going to overtake? F---. I would not attempt to overtake in this heavy fog," the filming motorist says as the Commodore in front begins to edge onto the opposite side of the road.
Moments later the man screams as the Commodore hits the brakes but is unable to avoid ploughing into a four-wheel-drive travelling in the opposite direction.
Motorists quickly stop around the crash and stop traffic on the road.
The 58-year-old driver of the 4WD was reportedly rushed to Royal Perth Hospital with fractures and chest pain.
The 24-year-old Mudijong man driving the Commodore received shoulder and arm injuries.
