Perth crime proceeds trial delayed
The trial of two men and a woman charged with harbouring unlawful non-citizens and dealing with the proceeds of crime in Perth has been delayed.
Minh Canh Le and Lien Bich Thi Nguyen, who require Vietnamese interpreters, and Nhi Van Le are all accused of dealing with $1 million or more in illegally obtained cash in Carabooda in 2013 and 2014.
The Le men are also accused of harbouring a total of 25 unlawful non-citizens at Carabooda and Thornlie.
The jury was selected on Monday, when it was revealed they would hear from about 70 witnesses, but openings that were scheduled to begin on Wednesday have been delayed.
It is hoped openings will commence on Thursday.
The trial is expected to last between five and seven weeks.
